A little bit about me and my painting
A warm welcome!
I love to paint and I love the outdoors; my artwork is my way of bringing my passions together. I draw endless inspiration from the beauty of the countryside, the changing seasons and moments in nature.
I have been painting for many years. I am largely self-taught and have found invaluable encouragement and guidance from fellow artists along the way. What began as a snatched hour once a week for relaxation has grown into so much more and I now feel fortunate to dedicate more time to creating, from my home studio in South Gloucestershire.
I paint for many reasons: to express myself, to capture fleeting moments or cherished memories, and to create something joyful that brightens both space and spirit. Painting allows me to reflect on what is precious, and to reconnect with a sense of calm and centredness that is sometimes lost in the bustle of everyday life.
My preferred medium is acrylic. My work reflects a blend of styles, encompassing both realistic explorations of wildlife and more abstract interpretations of landscape. Frequently I merge both approaches in a single piece.
